Yeah it’s been a while. I know. I’ve been swimming in the murky cesspool of no internet, driving to and fro, maniacal scanning and (as I just discovered) blocked access to my website cause the library wifi in Douglas County, OR is censoring pornography.
And I’m all about the pornography. Or at least I was. It’s been a while…
Anywho…during a maniacal scanning session recently I came across some pics that I thought I had inadvertently thrown out. I can’t tell you how happy I was to find them (scattered amongst my own photography – some of which is also pornography. Go figure.).
So here I present to you, my grade school class pics from 1974-1979. Kindergarten – 5th grade. Freaking yay!!!!!
Click on the images to get a real close up eyeful!!!
And as a special treat here’s a Neato plate I made in 1st or 2nd grade.
Ok that’s it for now. Sorry if there’s anything weird with this post. The formatting or pic size. I’m doing the best I can with what I gots.
And Happy Valentine’s Day to everybody!!!!

Excellent post! I love this stuff… every pic is a gem 🙂 That’s really an interesting way to photograph the class by having everyone just sitting at the tables, though it seems a little unfair to the people in the back (your groovy looking teacher is just a ball of blurry hair!) I think my fave is the shot of you by the liberty bell– aww! And look at your classmate in the Holly Hobby bonnet!!! haha
Man if there’s a story behind that plate illustration, I need to hear it ASAP!!!

I look so dorky in that pic! And yeah I was thinking the same thing about that classroom pic. Poor kids in the back. I loved that teacher. She was totally groovy. And the kid in the very front with his eyes closed is hilarious! Man I wonder what was going on that was so bad with the other takes that they chose that one.
The plate was just this project where we drew something on tracing paper and I drew Winnie the Pooh getting stung by bees and tigger standing next to him. Is tigger stripey though? I can’t remember

Ok I see it now, Winnie has word balloons, I guess I thought those were butterfly wings! — and I totally thought Tigger was an Ozark Bald Knobber! 🙂

Nice pics, Carol. I wonder how many out there in internet land saved their school pics after all these decades. Kids today shouldn’t be too smug thinking their digital pics will be around forever, if the technology that can read/decipher their digital pics becomes obsolete their images are lost forever. Sometimes old school technology is the best.

Thanks Len! I haven’t ever seen anyone’s class pics. I don’t know how many schools did them. I looked at my grade schools website a while back thinking they might have an archive of all the old class pics but no dice :(. It’s too bad.

I have kept all of my class photos. Ever since nursery school, our pictures have been a group shot in a gym or the library. I really do prefer a hardcopy mage as well.
If i did that to all my digital images, woo-doggies!, They would/will be/get rich off of me.
